Kenya's Coast Province in Brief

Coast province is one of the eight provinces in Kenya. It is situated along the coastline of the Indian Ocean. It boarders Eastern and Rift Valley province on the east, North Eastern province on the north and the neighboring country Tanzania on the South. It is divided into seven districts namely; Malindi, Kilifi, Taita Taveta, Tana River, Kwale and Lamu. The province covers a total area of 82816 sq. km. 31% of this land is arable and suitable for agricultural production whereas the rest (69%) is classified as ASAL ideal for livestock production.

The province in endowed with unique resources such as marine, coastal forests, wildlife, minerals and tree crops most of which are yet  to be fully  utilized for the improvement of the wellbeing of the residents.
